It was a very enjoyable fish-in
although we had only 5 participants; Keith Thompson from Marin County
and his partner Tim, Professor from Alameda, my girlfriend Mary and
I. It was quite windy on Friday and Saturday but it calmed down
nicely on Sunday.
Keith and Tim took their fishing
very seriously and caught over 200 fish weighing from around 8 pounds
to 21 pounds 12 ounces. They bivvied (I know the spelling's wrong) up
and fished all day and night in true British fashion. The 21.12 was
the biggest fish caught during the fish-in.
Professor only fished on Friday
from 7:00am until about 7:00pm and a half day on Saturday, he caught
10 fish on Friday and 6 on Saturday morning. His biggest fish went 18 pounds.
Mary and I fished Friday
afternoon and all day Saturday and Sunday. Mary caught 2 fish on
Friday afternoon, blanked on Saturday except for a 15 pound channel
catfish and caught 2 on Sunday. Her biggest was about 15 pounds. I
caught 2 on Friday, 3 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday with my biggest
being 17 pounds.
