Saturday October 2nd
The weather and the fishing was
great, there were five participants in the fish-in: Keith Thompson,
his girlfriend Wendy, James (Carpskunker on the CAG forum), Mary and
I. Keith, Wendy and James showed up Friday night, Mary and I
arrived at around 7:30 am on Saturday. Keith and Wendy had already
caught a few fish during the night and James had just started
fishing. Keith, Wendy and James started catching quite a few fish
while Mary and I were experiencing no action at all since we were
fishing out at the end of the peninsula. Around 11:30 in the morning,
Mary and I started catching fish as well. Everyone had a
productive afternoon. Keith, Wendy and James ended up with around 40
fish for the day with Keith's 21.4 lb'er being the biggest. Mary and
I ended up with 14 fish up to 16 lbs for the day. Mary caught 6 and I
caught 8. We took off for home around 5:00 pm but Keith, Wendy and
James continued to fish. James left for home sometime later that evening.
Sunday October 3rd
Mary and I returned on Sunday
morning around 8:00 am and Keith and Wendy reported that they
got into a lot of smaller carp during the night, I didn't ask how
many they caught but they said it got pretty hectic. We set up at the
end of the peninsula again and there was no action until around noon.
Keith and Wendy didn't have any action either. Finally everyone
started catching a few in the afternoon. Keith did it again with a
23.12 lb'er! He ended up with a 19, 21.4 and 23.12 for the weekend,
all three being bigger than anyone else caught. Mary and I caught a
couple just over 16 and I believe Wendy caught a 17 lb'er. We all
packed it in a little before 3:00 pm and headed home. A great time
was had by all.
