I have received several requests for a profile of myself so here it is: I am a 67 year old retired postal employee from the San Francisco Bay Area. I moved up to Lake County in May of 1994. I have been visiting the lake since I was 14 years old. I spent most of my life fishing for striped bass, salmon, pacific rockfish, ocean perch and many other species in San Francisco Bay and the nearby ocean. I enjoyed many long vacations as well as weekends catching catfish, bass, crappie, carp and bluegill on beautiful Clear Lake. I spent a couple of years commercial fishing for ocean perch and rockfish in San Francisco Bay.  Most of my perch fishing experience was in S.F. Bay and the immediate coast south to Halfmoon Bay. I do have a few successful trips each year on the beach at Noyo Harbor in Ft. Bragg but that's about all these days. My other interests include computers and camping. My "Catfish Ed " nickname in no way indicates any particular skills in the art of catfishing. I aquired the name when first getting on the internet in March of 1998. I needed to think of a unique user name for my ISP and since I do a lot of catfishing and my first name is Ed, it sounded like a good choice. I have learned quite a bit about the feeding habits and movements of channel catfish in the lake but I am definitely not an expert on catfishing of any type. I receive emails from all over the country requesting detailed information about catfishing in a particular body of water. While I welcome all emails, please remember that my knowledge is limited to channel catfish and most of my experience is here on Clear Lake. My bass fishing experience is fairly limited compared to all the pros that fish the lake so I recommend going to NCBF for up to date Clear Lake bass information. I am happy to receive inquiries of any kind pertaining to Lake County California and especially Clear Lake. I do not have all the answers but I am usually able to help either by finding the info or referring you to a website that may help.
