M & M Campground

Keith Thompson and his girlfriend Wendy came up to M & M Campground on Friday evening for a weekend of carp angling. They caught a couple of fish early Saturday morning but the action really improved by Saturday evening. They caught about 28 fish from Saturday evening to early Sunday morning including a new PB for Wendy of 17 lbs.

Mary and I and our friend Bill Cline (a new carp fishing convert and CAG member) arrived on Sunday morning at about 7:30 am. Keith and Wendy were kind enough to prebait our swim and quit baiting their own so that all the fish would come to us.

Bill just purchased a new rodpod, 3 bite alarms, a weigh sling and baitfeeder reel from AllSurfFishing.com and was anxious to try them out. He caught a nice 12 lb'er and lost another good one.

Mary caught 3 nice fish weighing from 12 to 14 lbs and lost a good fish. I caught 3 fish weighing from around 10 to 12 lbs and lost a small one near the bank. We quit around noon so we had pretty decent action for a little over 4 hours of fishing.

Just as Keith and Wendy were packing up their gear for their return home, Wendy hooked into another good fish weighing around 12 lbs. That made a total of 31 fish for their weekend.

Although the carp aren't as large or plentiful as last year, some nicer ones are showing up and we still have a few weeks of good fishing before the colder water temperatures take their toll on the fishing.
