M & M Campground
A Pretty Decent Session

October 25 & 26, 2003

Saturday October 25th

Mary and I met Mick from Santa Rosa and his son Wesley at M & M Campground at around noon. Mick was already out on the water baiting the area with his rather unusual inflatable boat.

Mary caught 2 carp weighing 9 and 11 lbs while I caught only one fish of about 10 lbs. Mick and Wes had no action until after we headed home for the evening.

Sunday October 26th

Mary and I returned to M & M at around 6:30 am and found Mick and Wes a bit exhausted from playing lots of carp throughout the night. Mick informed us that they had caught around 18 fish up to 16½ lbs since around 9:00 pm.  We set up our gear and joined them for a short morning session. Mary caught 2 fish and I caught 4 with most of them being in the 10 to 12 lb class. Mick and Wes caught several more nice fish including a scrappy 14½ lb'er by Mick.

Mick and Wes fished a total of about 24 hours and Mick's grand total was 19 carp up to 16½ lbs, Wes had 8 fish up to 14 lbs bringing their combined total for the session to 27 fish.

Mary and I fished a total of about 8 hours for the two days. Mary's total was 4 fish to 11 lbs and mine was 5 fish to 12 lbs.

Mary and I caught all of our fish on  prepared maize except for one that Mary caught with a Mainline Tutti Frutti Boilie.

Mick and Wes caught a few with Mick's secret recipe boilies and the rest with prepared maize.

As long as the weather doesn't change too drastically, we should have at least 2 or 3 more weeks of this fishing.
